Day 1. Cusco – Camicancha to Ancascocha Lagoon camp

We left the city of Cusco at 5:30 am and we headed towards the valley of the Incas through Chinchero, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. In OLLANTAYTAMBO is the first stop for breakfast (not included) or take a delicious local coffee, the last 30 min. Travel is by a dirt road to reach the starting point of our expedition right through Inca trails of Mt. HUAYANAY. The valley of SILQUE is beautiful for the nature that offers to the hikers; in the first hour we find many shrubs and flowers that cross our path, there are also 11 rustic bridges built by the community of CAMICANCHA and ANCASCOCHA 3700m/12,136 ft. Our first night is near the lagoon of ANCASCOCHA, “you have a panoramic view of the mountains that surround the place”

The distance we cover is 9 km / 5.6 in a time of 4 to 5 hours of hiking. Important note: the first night of camping is quite cold because we are close to the snowy Andes we recommend bringing a very good sleeping bag and thermal clothes to rest pleasantly tonight, during the night you can see a beautiful starry sky.

Day 2. Ancascocha Lagoon – Huayanay to Paucarcancha camp

Today we get up at five in the morning to reach our goal. Our ascent will be zigzag up the mountain to reach the highest point of the entire expedition; the pass of HUAYANAY is one of the most amazing places in the area, from this place, you can see other sacred mountains and the valleys that surround it. There are two Inca ruins on the trekking route; The first is before the Pass “Inca Trail” and the second is the ruins of Incaraqay “guard and Inca station and resting place of the great Inca athletes” The distance to cover is 14 km / 9.3 miles. In a period of 7 to 8 hours. The day we camp in a low place in relation to the height! 3,133 m/10,276 ft.

Day 3. Paucarcancha – Classic Inca Trail to KM 82

While the majority of visitors enter the classic Inca trail from km 82, our support team and we make the opposite trekking. We start early in the morning after exploring the ruins of PAUCARCANCHA we will advance to WAYLLABAMBA “camp 1 of other hikers”

Moreover, from WAYLLABAMBA is official Inca trail for us until we reach the 82 km of the railway line, today is easy to moderate our trekking, in the course of the day we can explore some archaeological groups, but the most outstanding is PATALLACTA. The km 82 there is a sign to take the official photo of Inca road. The rest of the trip is in vehicle until arriving at OLLANTAYTAMBO; tonight we rest in a hotel of three stars.

Day 4. Ollantaytambo – Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

On this fourth day, there is also Inca trail trekking, but it will be the short Inca Trail version that starts this adventure in km 104 of the railway line. Pack a day backpack, just the necessary things for 1 and a half days, the rest of the luggage will left at the hotel and upon returning from Machu Picchu, we will pick them up.
The itinerary today is as follows: very early in the morning we board the train service that will take us to km 104 “1 hour and 20 minutes by train” the guide has all the permits and registrations to be able to enter this Wonderful place, (important is to bring your original passport). The first three hours of hiking is climbing the mountain until you reach WIÑAYWAYNA. From this place, the rest of the hiking is easy to moderate and meanwhile we hike we visit three places: CHACHABAMBA, WIÑAYWAYNA and INTIPUNKU. Today we take the best photos from the natural balcony of Machu Picchu before boarding the bus service that will take us to the town of AGUAS CALIENTES.

Day 5. Machu Picchu Tour

The tour to Machu Picchu takes 2 hours, which is enough time to explore the entire Inca citadel. During the afternoon the whole group will have to start returning to Cusco, first by train and then from the town of Ollantaytambo by private transport.
