Day 1. Cusco – Soqma to Rayan camp

The group leaves from Cusco at 7:00 am towards Socma “place of beginning of the trekking” during the course of the trip we will make two stops. The first is in the viewpoint of Raqchi “you can see the sacred valley and the mountain chains” the second one is Ñaupa Iglesia Inca site “great place to explore Inca enigmas” In Socma are the muleteers with the donkeys waiting at our arrival and thus to be able to pack the adventure luggage. Today’s hiking is 8 km / 5 miles for 4 to 5 hours of hiking. The first few hours you have Andean nature with some shrubs until you reach the Perolniyoc waterfalls “beautiful landscape” then we climb to the heights of our camp located near Perolniyoc Inca site.

Day 2. Rayan to Ancascocha camp

Today we will have the first experience of climbing our mountain pass. Kuychicassa Pass 4,457 m / 14,619 ft. “Means the place of the rainbows”, most of the days Andean rainbow are above the sacred valley; there are also rainbows of circular form around the sun. We will start descending through the hamlet of Chancachuco until we reach our base camp called Ancascocha. High Andean mountains and snow-capped mountains surround Ancascocha; we will camp around the Ancascocha School. The hiking is 16 km / 10 miles, and between 8 to 10 hours to reach our goal.
Optional is to camp in the lagoon of ANCASCOCHA!

Day 3. Ancascocha to Paucarcancha camp

Today we have a lot of hiking activity; today we will climb to the second highest Peak of the whole trip “that means that between SOCMA AND MACHU PICCHU” the Wayanay Pass is the biggest challenge for the whole group of hikers. Before arriving at Wayanay you can observe and walk on an ancient Inca road and on the other side of the PASS, there is an Inca guard post called: INCA RAKAY “The ruins are very well preserved after 500 years of the arrival of the Spanish.” The rest of the day is trekking downhill through the jungle forest. Our base camp is PAUCARCANCHA. They are 16 km / 10 miles and takes between 8 to 10 hours of hiking.

Day 4. Paucarcancha to Llulluchapampa camp

This day we enter the classic Inca trail but known worldwide, just 15 minutes from PAUCARCANCHA separates us from WAYLLABAMBA “place of first camp for walkers begin their trek from km 82” from WAYLLABAMBA, hiking is through Inca trails that goes up to LLULLUCHAPAMPA camp. From Ayapata is many stone steps, you walk between 3 to 4 hours. Note: Today we do not use donkeys to load our adventure luggage; we use porters from PAUCARCANCHA to the rest of hiking days!

Day 5. Llulluchapampa to Chaquicocha camp

We will begin the expedition conquering two PASS of mountain the best known as the PASS of WARMIWAÑUSKA and then the RUNKURAKAY. All day trekking is through the Inca roads, today we explore the following archaeological groups: RUNKURAKAY, SAYACMARCA, and CONCHAMARCA. The base camp is CHAKICOCHA, the previous days the group of expeditionary had the experience of climbing other PASSES of mountains and today they are two PASSESS no problem will be like eating a piece of cake. Note: perhaps it is one of the most beautiful days of trekking because we are inside the Andes and the jungle.

Day 6. Chaquicocha to Wiñaywayna camp

Being camping inside the jungle of Machu Picchu is a unique experience; the trekking of today is to descend a thousand meters until you reach WIÑAYWAYNA. Having built the Inca trail on the edges of the cliffs and into the jungle, it is an extraordinary feat as the Inca people were adapted to the topography of the area. Three archaeological groups we have to explore PHUYUPATAMARCA, INTIPATA, and WIÑAYWAYNA.

Day 7. Wiñaywayna to Machu Picchu

Only 6 km separates us from Machu Picchu, the walking path is easy to moderate, the only difficulty is getting up very early in the morning. When you arrive at the viewpoint of INTI PUNKO, you get an impressive view of Machu Picchu “clear if it is not cloudy”. The tour in Machu Picchu starts at 7:30 am and the guided tour takes 2 hours for exploring the most outstanding Machu Picchu. After tour if some clients want to stay longer in Machu Picchu can do it, or you can go down to the town of AGUAS CALIENTES village with the guide and the group for having a lunch together “not included”. Members of the work team, during the afternoon they will board the train that takes them to OLLANTAYTAMBO station and from OLLANTAYTAMBO they will go by tourist transport to the city of CUSCO, same routine for hikers.
